The Tarangire National Park is our first entry into Tanzania. This park is one of the most scenic with huge baobab trees and its extensive herds of elephant and towers of giraffe. It is also an ornithologist’s paradise offering shelter to hundreds of species of birds, including the largest bird in the world, the ostrich and the heaviest bird that can fly, the Kori Bustard. Moving onto Ngorongor Crater, we’ll certainly be overwhelmed with great photo opportunities as the wildlife in the crater is constrained by the land formation giving rise to enthralling densities of wildlife.

This ten day safari tour departs from, and ends in, Johannesburg. During the days spent at Nxabege and Sandibe in the Okavango Delta, we’ll photograph panoramic landscapes with elephants, leopards, African fish eagles, lechwe antelope and wild dogs. The open flat marshy wetlands, untainted by human settlements and massive industrialization, provide unparalleled panoramic vistas of a place in Africa where animals roam unperturbed.

The Timbavati is well known for its high densities of elephant, buffalo and rhino, as well as for its African wild dogs (an endangered species). Ngala supports several prides of lion in the area and a more elusive cat, the leopard, particularly females with their young. Kirkman’s Kamp, located in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve complex is an area famed for its intimate wildlife encounters, particularly elephant and rhino viewing. Timed to maximize the photo opportunities over the calving season, this tour is designed to photograph the predators in action.
